Red Bull All Over the US MotoGP

Wow. I never thought motorcycle racing would be as bad as the Superbowl as far as advertising titles…the Totstito’s Halftime Show, etc. Well it did. Red Bull is the consumate whore tat this year’s Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix At Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. As it turns out, Red Bull is also the group that took over the Embassy Suites which cost what seems to be several people their well-in-advance reservations (I know…I’m kicking a dead horse, but truthfully I do not blame Red Bull but they could have helped accomodating those they displaced).

I have now discovered that they made a one-time deal with the Suzuki MotoGP team to be a major sponsor for this race. Check it…

MotoGP Red Bull SuzukiRed Bull gives you… a new paint scheme for your Suzuki GSV-R. Well, that would be true if you were Red Bull Suzuki riders John Hopkins or 2000 World Champion Kenny Roberts Jr. The MotoGP duo will be sporting the paint schemes, as well as corresponding leathers, for the July 10th race at Laguna Seca.

As we reported in an earlier article, Red Bull has teamed with Suzuki in a special “one-off partnership” at the upcoming Red Bull US Grand Prix. Red Bull was already a sponsor for Suzuki rider John Hopkins - who wore a Red Bull design on his helmet - and is the title sponsor of the July 10th event at Laguna Seca near Monterey, California.

All we were waiting for then was the unveiling of the new look, and here it is. For more information on the USGP at Laguna Seca check out the official website at www.redbullusgrandprix.com.

I wonder how many Red Bulls Kenny Roberts Jr. & John Hopkins are contractually obligated to throw down. I’ve never had the stuff myself, but they seem to be doing something right with all the $$$ they sponsor for racing efforts. Hmmm…this is the point where I should say “Since they dump a bunch of money into our sport, please buy their product(s)”. It gives you wings. But since I can’t even drink a Mountain Dew any more without getting the shakes, I’ll let you decide for yourself. Or better yet, go to the bar and get that now famous upper/downer all in one drink of Red Bull & vodka.
