Pacsafe LidSafe Helmet Bag

This little item crossed my desk a couple of weeks ago and I think it’s pretty cool. Pacsafe has created a unique line of secure, soft-sided motorcycle luggage. Secure and soft-sided? Exactly. Sandwiched between the inner and outer layers of ballistic nylon is a stainless-steel cable mesh that makes it nigh on impossible to slice the bag open and remove the contents. In addition, an integrated cable allows the logguage to be secured to the bike, a flag pole or other convenient fixed object. Finally, the luggage is waterproof so your helmet and other gear will stay dry. Very cool stuff.
I was so impressed that when Pacsafe approached me about a contest to give away one of their LidSafe Helmet Bags I quickly agreed (with some conditions). So here’s the deal; go to www.northwestcyclenews.com and use the link on the front page to access the entry form. You will need to answer 3 easy questions about Pacsafe’s products and provide your e-mail address (more on this in a second). A winner will be selected at random from those entries with correct answers to all 3 questions. The winner will be contacted via e-mail to arrange for shipment (at no charge, of course). One entry per e-mail address, duplicates will be rejected. The contest ends January 6, 2006.
The drawing is open only to readers of NorthwestCycleNews; your entry will not be pooled with entries from other sites. Feel free to spread the word about the contest; in fact, please do spread the word.
I know that many are concerned about privacy and use of their e-mail address with these contests. Let me put your mind at ease. When Pacsafe approached me with the idea to give away some product to my readers my first concern was your privacy. I explained that the only way that I would run the contest was if I controlled my reader’s information. That is the only way that I can keep my promise to not release your e-mail addresses. Pacsafe agreed. All entries will be held by me and the addresses will not be forwarded to Pacsafe or anyone else. Once the contest is over the list of entries will be deleted.
To be honest, I was surprised that Pacsafe agreed to my terms. I assumed that they would push for the adresses so that they could send out promotional e-mails. Not so. I commend Pacsafe for their sensitivity to this issue.
Good luck and Happy Holidays!
