The Joys of buying online … Newenough.com

Another lovely installment on my never ending path to bankruptcy I just can’t seem to keep my credit card in my wallet, and my big mouth shut about me and that stupid race bike. At this point everyone runs and/or turns away from me to avoid the never ending discussion about my self centered life and silly track day dreams/exploits.

With that in mind, I have been on another spending spree and bought an another set of leathers (That makes set #3 in one year), being a Joe Rocket 1pc GPX Type-R. I also picked up an Alpinestars Tech Back protector to protect my back and feed my ego on being so fast as I need more protection. Both of these items were bought though Newenough.com and I will be getting to review one of the two real soon.

Also over the past few months, I have bought a bunch of motorcycle gear though Newenough.com. My wife got a new Joe Rocket Trixie Jacket and a pair of Joe Rocket Ballistic Pants. I got a pair of Joe Rocket Phoenix 2.0 pants and a Joe Rocket back protector to fit in my leathers. All in all I have ordered over $1200 in gear from Newenough.com in the past 30 days or so.

I have to say Newenough.com has really stepped up to the plate for service and a kick ass return policy. In this last month I have been able to sample their great service on 3 different occasions.

Experience #1:Alpinestars Tech Back Protector

When I received my big street riding order, everything was great except the Joe Rocket back protector. My mind had hoped to get a stiffer and more protective pad for my racing usage. The part I got was more flexible and seemed to be just an “Upgraded” pad with a CE Protection rating. This is not what I wanted, as I was eager to upgrade my spine protection.

I wrote Newenough.com an e-mail telling them that I was a bit “Disappointed” with the back pad and was their a chance that the Alpinestars Tech Back protector would fit me. Within 1hr I received an e-mail telling me that the back protector would fit around my HUGE 44” waist (They said it would fit up to 48”), and that they would ship one out ASAP and charge my card the difference between the Joe Rocket pad and the Alpinestar protector. All I needed to do was ship the Joe Rocket one back, and they would be “All settled up”.

I sent my pad back (Actually the wife did that, she is my home office assistant) and I got my new back protector and I was happy again.

Experience #2:Joe Rocket GPX Type R - 1pc

I got some information from mawonline.com that the size 56 in the Joe Rocket GPX Type R – 1pc suit was available. As I was a bit disappointed with having a two piece suit that was not perforated, I wanted the 1pc suit to look cooler and be cooler.

I called Newenough.com and their info showed the size 56 as not available yet from “Sullivan’s” (Sullivan’s is the importer of Joe Rocket and many other motorcycle leather goods). I asked if Newenough.com could double check and call me back. I got a call in 10min to tell me the suit was available in size 56 and would I like it. I agreed to it, and they had “Sullivan’s” drop ship me the suit to my door. Again, great service.

Experience #3:

I received my Joe Rocket GPX 1pc suit and tried it on. The sad part is the suit is much SHORTER than the 2pc suit I have. Now I am not talking 1/2” or even 1”, it is closer to 2~3” shorter in the torso. This gave me the worst case of camel toe and did not do the boys any good. The knee pads were in the right place when I was standing upright and I could hardly crouch down in a racers tuck with them on. In no short terms, I am not able to use the 1pc suit.

I gave Newenough.com a call and told them about my height difference between the 1pc and 2pc suit. The lady on the phone told me to just ship it back and they would credit me. She did not even ask me to “swap” the suit for another 2pc suit. She did not even charge me any restocking fee, even though I was over the $500 item line and could have charged it to me. This was the best customer service as I was shipping back a super weird size 56 suit.

So what do I say… go ahead and try out Newenough.com They will take care of you.

Now, all I got to do is hold firm on my new resolution… stop talking about my stupid motorcycle to everyone. I must repeat each day… stop bothering AB in talking about motorcycles all the time… stop bothering AB in talking about motorcycles all the time… repeat…. repeat…. repeat…
