Motoczysz in Cycle World

This month’s Cycle World (ok - August ‘06) has a great write-up on the further developments of the C1 project.  Anyone who reads this blog regularly (both of you), knows that I am a fan and even got to tour the company.

SIDEBAR:  Is there something a little self-stroking if you link to yourself???  END SIDEBAR

If you are a fan of the project or even interested, go get this month’s Cycle World while its still on the stands.  There is a lot of NEW info there.  The best part id that you get to see computer generated versions of the finished product, and its beautiful.  As a heterosexual male, I rarely use that word.  But this time, its appropriate.

They released two possible sponsor partnerships of Michelin & Ultimate Fighting Championship.  I’m not going to scan in the photos and put them here.  Spend the $4 and get your own.

Two nuggets that are posted on the Motoczysz website are:

The new MotoCzysz C1 race bikes that will see competition in 2006, will be displayed at the MotoCzysz GP paddock inspired exhibit in the manufacturers’ area of Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway.

“There is little time to appreciate what you have designed, once a design is complete you immediately start work on how to make it better. It is a relentless but seductive process.” Says Michael Czysz, Chief Designer/ CEO “MotoCzysz has now realized a significant part of our dream, it will be my honor to present our first official race bike at the USGP, this motorcycle will be the most advanced and capable motorcycle ever made in America.”

Based on the successful proof of concept prototype, the next generation C1 is a no holds barred American bred contender. MotoCzysz Begins Assembling Z-Line4 engines
2006-06-13

After thousands of hours spent in front of computer monitors and reviewing prints, assembly of the MotoCzysz Z-Line 4 engines has begun. The counter rotating, twin crank, triple overhead cam Z-Line 4 engine conceived by Michael Czysz and developed with his team of world class engineers will be the heart of the next generation C1- Americas first sportbike.

“We’ve reached an exciting stage in the project where all our design effort is being carved into metal. Fast prototyping methods have been used to assist with reducing manufacturing times – and so far it’s all looking good – everyone is very pleased. Engine assembly has begun and then at the end of June it hits the dyno for the first time - we all anticipate great results” says Chief Design Engineer Adrian Hawkins.

With parts coming through the door almost hourly, the MotoCzysz staff has had their hands full preparing two machines for their debut at the Red Bull USGP at Laguna Seca, July 21st-23rd 2006. The new American MotoGP machines will be on display in the MotoCzysz exhibit located in the manufactures area. END Nugget #2

I must say that I have held the above pair of jugs in my very hands.  They are the nicest I have ever handled.

On a final note, the Motoczysz guys gave me the same scoop as in the article and more.  They were not kidding about full-access.  I found myself nodding my head as I read the article saying to myself “yup”.  What I found cool was that it gave me a chance to relive that trip all over again.  Shhhh…but you got the same scoop here about six weeks before Cycle World and it was free.  Heh - we matter ;).

They have more partnerships in the works.  They have suspension parts coming online for your Japanese sport bike.  And soon, they will unveil the roadrace version.

If I only had an extra $100k…
