Flat Tires, Battery Tenders, and Bike Covers

That’s what’s in my garage right now. The dirt bike has both the front and rear tires flattened (due to lack of use and the forever slow leak of inner tubes). The Futura is sitting right behind her with a Battery Tender and a cover. And yes, the cover has dust in it. This time of year in Phoenix its simply too hot to ride…even in the mornings.
Its still a little better than Michigan because if I wanted to suffer a little, I could go riding. Snow mean No mister in any case! This condition is a little depressing (well…not literally) because the dirt bike is my mental dump after a long week. Second, I have taken a liking to moto-commuting. That hasn’t happened in a couple of months now.
I guess I can’t bitch too much. Why? Because of the heat I haven’t ridden at all. Because I haven’t ridden at all, I haven’t burned through the whole tank of smog reducer. Because of that, I haven’t gone to MVD (the other one) and passed emissions yet. My minor in college was procrastination. I have to get it done this month though because my plate expires.
In the end, life is still good.

Sorry to hear about the heat. When does it start to cool off enough to get back on the bike? Glad Colorado has milder summers. When it gets too hot in the city, I just go up in the mountains (about 20ish miles away) where it’s cooler. Just in the last week I did 971 miles on two separate weekend trips in the mountains. With all the rain (and yes, I did get caught in hours of rain which didn’t stop us) everything is green and beautiful.
Wishing You Cooler Summers, Betty
