Moto-Gifts…Christmas 2006

This year I asked the parents to spare me actual gifts and send the best gift one can receive - CA$H.  I did this because as I am ramping up on the moto-commuting, I am in need of some gear.  I’m a simple guy, but I am particuar about motorcycle-related purchases, especially gear.  So this Christmas I have acquired the following thorugh gift cards, cash, or simply knocking the dust off my wallet and spending some of my own hard-earned dough:

  1. Luggage Locker tank bag
  2. Under Armor cold weather balaclava and shirt
  3. Gerbings heated jacket
  4. Toshiba Gigabeat MP3 player (GRRRR - being serviced)

I need to do a few maintenance items while I have some time off over the holiday.  I have a feeling my grip heaters are not working to their capacity so the wiring needs to get checked.  Its also time for plugs, oil change, and a valve check for the Futura.  Getting this done will get me on the road for the new year with a bike and proper gear that I can enjoy the ride until it gets too damn hot!.

So what’d YOU get for your motorcycle habit?

Let’s see, I got a MP3 player (finally) for listening while riding, some microfiber cloths for cleaning and “The Doctor, The Tornado and The Kentucky Kid” MotoGP DVD. But, I still got to hook up with more family tonight!
Don’t need much cold weather gear here in Florida. 73°F here this afternoon :)

Well Merry Ho Ho! I did the same and had the family just give me money this year. I didn’t need any riding gear so I spent the money on the bike.

1. Clear Alternatives Tail/Signal Light
2. Flush Mount Front Turn Signals
3. Swing Arm Spools
4. New Chrome Bar Ends

God Bless ebay.

I got leather fringe grip covers for my brake and clutch levers, a V-Star key chain, V-Star baseball cap (to cover helmet hair), and a Biker Bunny with a Harley jacket to ride with me on occasions.

Happy New Year’s to Everyone :)
