Ducati 1098 - New Colors Added

I’ve always been a fan of the heritage Ducati Red for their sports bike - 916/996/998, 999, and now the 1098. Personally, I think the tricolore is pretty ugly, but I like subtle. Even though they are rare, the black versions look great too. Anyway, it looks like Ducati will be releasing yellow and black to compliment the red and the tricolore. Check it:
Ducati adds extra color options to the 1098 Powersports Business Thursday December 28, 2006 Ducati North America’s 1098 Superbike will be made available in two additional colors, black and yellow.
The 1098 Superbike was launched at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan on Nov. 14 and won the “Most Beautiful Motorcycle in Show” award.
The 1098 yellow scheme will be matched with black wheels and a grey frame. The black color is available for the 1098 S, and will be paired with a red frame and red-trimmed black wheels. Dark aluminum badging will adorn both color schemes.The Ducati 1098 Superbike produces 160hp and 90.4 pounds feet of torque. The 1098, according to the company, is the lightest open class Superbike available, weighing 381 pounds,
The 1098 Superbike will carry a MSRP of $14,995. The 1098 S will be priced at $19,995, and the limited edition 1098 S Tricolore will be $24,995. Prices in Canada will be $19,995 for standard version, while the 1098 S will be $24,995 and the Tricolore will be $29,995.

History or Hype. I may be viewed as strange but I am not a fan of the Ducati styling. I see nicer lines in a GSXR or a CBR. I have never had the opportunity to ride one but for the inflated price I had better peak after 2 minutes.
