Time to Lube the Wall…….again!!!!!!!

It always slips my mind, thank god for the upcoming MotoGP in China and the Race event sponsor Sinopec Great Wall Lubricants. Now the tough choice is always which lubricant to select to lube the wall and who makes the best wall lubricants? Since China does have the biggest, longest and Greatest Wall, it would only make sense they would be the biggest manufacturer of Wall Lubricants.

A little history about wall lubricants.
The Great Wall actually began in the States Warring Period, from the 5th century BCE to 221 BCE, when various regional warlords built walls around their territories to protect their lands. It wasn’t until Qui Shi Quang unified China in 221 BCE and ordered all the interior walls

An Inconvenient Truth

EDIT - The real reason I wrote this entry is that AL GORE IS A MORON!  And since I have strangely high rankings on google.com, I’m trying to work this in their searches and see how high this can climb the search engines.  Now back to the motorcycle stuff…

I must confess.  I don’t think I’m the addict of motorcycle that I play on this blog.  I tried.  I really did.  I tried to be a commuter this past season, and it just didn’t happen.

I think its a matter of convenience, the fact that my car get decent fuel economy, and I’m lazy as hell in the morning.

There is nothing more convenient than just jumping in the car and going…regardless of

AMA Rules ……. Equitable, Reasonable???

I don’t pretend to be an expert related the rules of AMA roadracing, but it seems like after controlling the series for decades, they’d have it figured out a lot better by now.

The incident that prompts these comments was the crash at the opening of the Supersport race at Barber this past weekend.

Jamie Hacking crashed by pushing the front going into the final turn on the first lap. He valiantly tried to save it using his knee to hold it up, but just didn’t have enough luck and ended up high siding the bike right in front of most of the rest of the pursuing field. Fortunately, only one other rider was victimized. Unfortunately, his bike was destroyed. Geoff May’s

Nicky Hayden Woes

Sheesh.  Not a good way to defend a title being a back marker.  Admittedly, I am a little surprised and a little disappointed.  It’s hard to defend the 2006 championship as Hayden winning versus Rossi losing.

I’ve actually thought about this a lot over the last couple of days (have I mentioned I have a 45 minute commute?).  From what I have read, these 800cc machines are much more like the 250cc machines, whereas the 990cc versions were more like big-bore WSBK bikes.  The latter would have a small advantage to Hayden.  The former would have a larger advantage to the 250cc GP riders.  This has been demonstrated by the increased corner speed and the increased amount of passing in the corners.

Track Day #2 - Firebird East

I had the pleasure of attending an open track day at Firebird East with AZ Track Time.  This was a unique situation because it was considered a ‘race practice day’.  That meant that only those with a CCS license could attend.  But, since our very own GothicbeaST is in that series, he made the call and got us in.  The cool thing is that there were a total of nineteen (!) people that were there for the day and we could enter and exit the track at our liesure.

A couple months ago I went to Firebird West which was a technical track at 1.1 miles with eleven turns.  The SV was rather well-suited for that situation.  Firebird East, even

Roadrace Fans - Huge Sunday on SPEED

While I like to denigrate Speed channel for their heavy emphasis on NASCAR and waning emphasis on motorcycle roadracing, I have to give credit for this weekend.

Clueless Idiots

I had an experience today on the way home from work that reminded me how much more we riders have to pay attention.  I was cruising along a two-lane road that is riddled with such great things as open-range cows and potholes galore.  Add to that transportation of those with much lesser (off the grid) means like those hauling their potable water (with trucks too small and tanks too big) to there trailer in the desert w/o power in many cases.

To make a long story only slightly longer, I saw the car some one hundred yards ahead of me swerve amidst a green cloud while passing by an on-coming pickup truck.  Well, the owner of the pickup dropped two full hay

A Little Disconnect

Crap.  About a week ago, my wife handed me my two motorcycle insurance card for this year’s coverage.  Great!  Good for another year.  As I put them in my pocket, I thought to myself…”self, I only have one street bike”.  Crap.  After a short review of the policy, it turns out that I have been paying on my Caponord that I sold on June 2nd, 2006.

See, I have it made (in my little world).  My wife takes care of all the house stuff including paying the bills.  In return for the rock-star lifestyle that all engineering incomes allow (that’s a joke), she is blessed with my good looks and charm.  What that does mean though is that she really

Ocotillo Wells Land Loss?

I’ve been to Ocotillo wells off-roading, using these very parks that wil be discussed below.  Its a beautiful area with some great terrain for ORV use.  And, because Kalifornia is what it is, this is one of the last BIG areas like it for the ORV people to legally enjoy.

I just read the below article on cyclenews.com and have soe comments following:
OCOTILLO WELLS SVRA IN DANGER OF SHRINKING

The following is an article written by San Diego Off-Road Magazine’s Sherri Kukla, who lives in Ocotillo Wells, California, regarding a serious threat to one of California’s most popular OHV parks: Are the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the California Department of Parks & Recreation (CDPR) about to give away 14,000
