Free Motorcycle**

**Well not really but it should have got your attention.  This is in response to a comment by Rhino.  He commented that he was trying to get the readers more involved.  Now that I have your attention you can finish reading my psycho babble.

I am sure at least one other rider out there must read Super Streetbike.  This month they talk about Kane Friesen jumping on board with Kawasaki.  One thing that stands out for me is that to maintain his sponsorship he must practice and compete in a safe and responsible manner.  In theory thats great but is there anywhere you can actually stunt that the fuzz will leave you alone?  Does anyone have experience with a parking lot you can practice at with out being hassled by the man?  I don’t get into the hardcore tricks but I do understand the thrill behind it.    Maybe by opening up a dialog and finding them a place to stunt it may help stop the stereo typing of sport bikes.  I am just as guilty as the next guy for going down the street on the back tire so by no means do I mean to chastise anyone for stunting I just want to try and find a place that riders can go.  So lets hear what you have to say.

Most stunters I know do their thing in industrial parks at night. The best ones tend to be outside of incorporated town limits, where only thinly spread county sheriffs have jurisdiction. Because the parks are empty at night and there is no one to call in the first place, and aren’t patrolled often, they get left alone.

You know what I find absolutely ridiculous …. when they put that disclaimer on ads saying “professional rider on a closed course, do not attempt to duplicate”.

How the hell do they think that “professional rider” got to be professional? Last time I heard, there’s no such a thing as a stunt school. These guys got their “education” on the street. Besides, what sanctioning body recognizes these guys as “professionals”? NONE, the general public does because they can do something 99.9% of the public wouldn’t even attempt.

Here’s to stunters, you make our world a little crazier and more fun. Practice all you want somewhere where the only victims during your failures are yourself and maybe those who share your passion. But please keep it off public roads where traffic is present.

Can employees of MBG be eligible for the free motorcycle? :D

My other question would be is if there is a market for an organized ’stunters’ track day where you rent a huge parking lot, etc? What can I say, the business man in me is always wondering.

I am fortuneate enough to live in Las Vegas, Nevada. And one thing Vegas has more than anywhere else in america, is hotels, and more specific, hotel parking lots, and garage.

I have worked out deals with several of the hotels in Las Vegas to allow myself, and several other of my friends to use portions of their parking garages and lots during certain times for us to practice on, safely and legally.

when I was residing in Irvine CA, I had worked out a similar deal with Saleen Motors, for me to use their test lot for practice.

often times permission is as easy as contacting the property managers or owners, in a proffessional mindset and be honest. most legal concerns can be bypassed with a simple waiver removing responsibility in case of injury away from the property management and leaving it in the hands of the riders.

I did learn to ride on the streets. I was at one time “that guy” wheeling down the freeway. however, after multiple impounds, tickets, and handcuffs. I decided to remove my riding from city streets and keep it to secure safe spots.

thanks for your time,
