I am curious as to who people think will win the 2007 MotoGP Championship.  It’s been an interesting season so far with some of the closest action throughout the whole race as well as blowouts.  Its clear that the Ducatis have the Hp advantage, but not so clear about cornering.  Heh - that’s still up to the rider although all have seemed to pick up cornering speed.

My pick is old school - Valentino Rossi.  While Casey Stoner is having a ‘cracking’ year so far, I think Rossi has the experience and Mojo to win.  Casey is a great rider and has seemed to mature greatly between this year and last, but the bulk of his passing has been on the straightaways only.  If he can break from the pack early, this has worked well for him.  In a dog-fight, not so much.

I selected the top five from the current standings plus Nicky Hayden (for old time sake).  Regardless of the overall winner, his season is a big part of the 2007 story.  I want him to do well as he is a class act and a great embassador for the sport…especially here in the US as we are considering adding another venue.  He has qualified poorly and performed similarly.  I hear the talk of aerodynamics, but I would think that could be remedied quickly.  Who knows.

At the very least, the season is neither dull nor slower (heh - DORNA).  I wish I was going to Laguna this year to hear the bikes live.  They are strange looking micro-bikes that I just gotta see.
