Dirt Bike Roll Call

Just curious as to how many people here have dirt bikes, where do you ride, and what kind of terrain do you prefer…

My current stable has an ‘05 YZ250 and a ‘00 YZ426f. I’ve been riding the dirt bikes every weekend and its almost replaced all my need to ride on the street. I like the tight technical single tracks the most out here in the AZ mountains…great workout. I may sell both bikes to upgrade to an 06-07 YZ450f. Decisions, Decisions.

Oh yeah, and no friggin cop is going to jump out behind a cactus with a radar gun.

Bob,

Over in Old Blighty they are talking about putting automated ticket writing speed cameras on some of the “green lanes” (trails to us Yanks) to control speed and reduce damage to the trails. Never underestimate the ability of Big Government to hunt down your fun and ruin it.

I haven’t ridden dirt in 5 years, when my oldest son turned 16 and got a car, a job, and a girlfriend. He just became too busy. After 6 months of no riding we sold all the dirt bikes :(
We use to ride at Croom, a 2600 acre state recreation area for motorcyclists.

I wasn’t originally going to reply to this post, but my son called last night and told me he had been dirt bike riding. He is currently stationed at Camp LeJeune NC. He mentioned that we should start doing that again when we have a chance.
So, now I’m debating if I want to take my almost 50 year old body back into the dirt! (I still watch the Yamaha XT500s on eBay, my first new bike was a 1979)
