Shoulda Gone Riding

This morning would have been nice for a ride if it weren’t for the high humidity and hot temps.  We got rain last night which make for awesome traction…and I never miss that.  Well, up until this morning.

Last night was a guys night out - a night at the local drag races followed by a wet t-shirt contest then followed by a pole dancing contest.  I haven’t done this kind of stuff since the college days and it seemed like it would be a good time.  It was fun indeed, but it was also a bust.

We watched some cool drag racing, but the festivities afterwards didn’t start until 1:30 AM!!!  What’s wrong with people.  That’s wayyy past my bed time.  We were told it started at midnight and I was good until then, but alas, it simply wasn’t worth the extended wait.

A few adult beverages and a late night left me rather unmotivated to go riding.  That I now regret because although it was humid, the temps were a little more mild than normal.  Oh well.  I’ll have to make up for it somehow.

Wow! I feel you on this one, I too had a wild weekend. I had a friend in town so I played host on Friday night, out doing the Hollywood party hopping thing till 4am. Then Sat night hit the “Hard” music festival with full backstage all access. Then the after party which included all the backstage antics till 6am. I usually will take a ride down through Malibu around 12 noon along Pacific Coast Hwy 101. But this Sunday I didn’t get up till 7pm. I guess we are just getting old and can’t hang with the young boys anymore.

I don’t care how young you are, staying up all night ruins the next day. Even fratboys don’t look so chipper around noon the day after, unless they’ve had a little artificial stimulation.

If a party doesn’t get going until midnight, you might as well just go home.

Besides the trails are MUCH less crowded (and cooler) at 8AM!
